Terms of entry

Terms

The basic rules for joining 1B, claiming your receipt number, and participating in the world’s dumbest one-person company.

Your $1 entry claims a receipt number. It is not an investment, lottery ticket, security, financial product, or promise of future profit.

1. The service

1B is a social participation campaign where people can pay a one-time $1 entry to claim a receipt number and become part of the public race count. Features may include shareable receipts, leaderboards, milestone updates, referrals, supporter options, and related community features.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally able to make a payment and use online services in your location. If you are under the age required to enter a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, you need permission from a parent or guardian.

3. Entry payment

  • The standard entry price is $1 USD unless shown otherwise at checkout.
  • Your receipt number is issued after successful payment confirmation.
  • Payment processing fees, currency conversion, taxes, or bank fees may apply depending on your payment method and country.
  • All purchases are intended to be final unless consumer law, payment processor rules, or our refund policy requires otherwise.

4. Public display

Receipt numbers are issued in sequence where practical. We may display aggregate race statistics such as total entries, countries, milestones, and referral counts. We will not intentionally publish your private contact details.

5. Privacy promise

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. We do not sell your personal data. We only share limited information with providers needed to operate 1B, such as payment, hosting, email, analytics, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or legal providers.

6. Fair use

You must not abuse the service, submit fraudulent payments, attempt to manipulate receipt numbers or leaderboards, interfere with the site, scrape private data, impersonate others, or use 1B for illegal, harmful, or misleading activity.

7. Changes

We may update, pause, modify, or discontinue parts of 1B as the project develops. We may also update these terms. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to make them visible.

8. No guarantees

1B is provided on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, viral growth, a particular number of entrants, future features, community benefits, prizes, commercial outcomes, or any financial return.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, 1B is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

10. Contact and legal details

Before public launch, this section should be updated with the final operating entity, registered address, support email, governing law, refund process, and any required consumer-law disclosures.
